Sl. No. 15 - Inauguration - (Our money lender is God. Money is genuine dharma.)

Dhaka - East Bengal Brahmomandir

Those who borrow from the moneylenders always remain wary of the fact that the moneylender may come anytime for refund and in case of his failure to do so, he may become insolvent and may not be trusted by people any longer. The moneylender may ask, how the money has been utilised. If the businessman then shows that the goods purchased are intact and none of the purchases has been spoilt, then the situation remains manageable. But if he says that the goods have been sold on credit and the buyers have not paid—such a state would be quite embarassing before the moneylender. No further money may be forthcoming on demand.

Our money lender is God. Money is genuine dharma. The reason for which He has created us, is to enrich ourselves by the wealth of dharma and we have to increase that wealth and enjoy it. But we have sold all those conditions of the soul to the samsar on credit terms—partly to wife, partly to son, partly to the dignity of position and partly to power. When I want them back, they refuse to return. I am therefore afraid of coming to the moneylender with empty hands. As we come to worship Him what if He asks, “What have you brought?” If the mind contains nothing to offer or even if we carry a farthing worth of matter, can we be satisfied in offering Him that much only? But then our moneylender is very forgiving and generous and that is what saves us. I have almost finished His wealth, I think I may have been left with a few pennies. How will I worship Him? I may not be having cent percent love for Him—but it would do, even if I had seventy percent love. But is it possible to worship Him with this heart?

There are so many kings of yogis, highest level of ascetics who are worshipping Him. What do we have to worship Him with? Often we repeat the name of the Supreme Lord, He is omnipresent—Living watchful God. Why do we not see Him? Because the mind is sold elsewhere. Sometimes we think we are worshipping Him, but on introspection we find that we are worshipping others—such as our wants and desires. This is how quite often we become self-deceived. If we can surrender cent percent of our heart to God who is the image of truth, then the vaccum will be filled just now, light will replace darkness. He is directly visible—not a matter of imagination, talks or feelings. We can see His manifestation just now if we can call Him with cent percent love. We have come to worship such a one—who is the kind Master of the wretched and friend of the destitutes. May He draw our entire mind and soul. May we worship Him.
